Are you about to become a mother for the first time? Do you live in Toronto or Montreal? Would you like to share your experience with us?
In order for this research to be a success, we need to learn from women who are transitioning to motherhood. If you would like to participate, here are the answers to some of the questions you might have:
What’s involved?
The study involves 4 individual interviews that last approximately 60-90 minutes each. The first interview will take place now; another will occur at 3 months after birth; the next at 12 months after birth; and the final interview will occur at 18 months after birth. We will provide you with a $25 honorarium for each completed interview.
What kinds of questions do you ask?
We are really interested in your experience of transitioning to motherhood – in relation to your home, your work, your hobbies and activities, and your community. We will ask questions about your journey to motherhood, the high points you’ve experienced, the challenges you’ve encountered, and how you’ve managed it all.
Where is it happening?
We are doing our research in Toronto and Montreal. Interviews will occur at a location that is convenient for you, at times that fit with your schedule.
What about privacy?
Your information is confidential, and your name will not be used in the study results.
What if I change my mind?
Participation is always voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time. You may also decline to answer any question and still remain in the study.
